Jordan | Water Management Initiative (WMI)
SEGURA Consulting LLC, as subcontractor to Tetra Tech, Inc., is currently implementing a five year contract to provide technical assistance to USAID Jordan. Under the USAID/Jordan Water Management Initiative (WMI), Tetra Tech and SEGURA Consulting support USAID in its efforts to implement Jordan’s National Water Strategy.
WMI partners with the GOJ in planning and implementing a suite of focused, catalyzing activities that a) will produce substantial improvement in the water sector over the five-year project life, b) can be achieved under existing Jordanian law and national policy, and c) will lay the groundwork for broader sector reform.
Particular emphasis is given to strengthening preconditions to change, such as building autonomy, increasing performance-based accountability, and moving toward commercialization at the service level, all enabled by strong public outreach. WMI supports the GOJ to address its most pressing needs, including compliance with International Monetary Fund (IMF) and Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) commitments, with particular focus on supporting implementation of the ambitious National Water Strategy (2016-2025).
SEGURA Consulting is supporting Component 1 of the project: water supply systems, and is providing the services of three long term specialists: a Senior Water Utility Expert, a Utility Management Specialist, and a Utility Communications and Finance Specialist.
