Alejandro M. Deeb
Senior Environmental & Climate Change Specialist
Dr. Alejandro Deeb is the Principal Associate at SEGURA who leads projects in Infrastructure and Environment including, climate change adaptation and mitigation, one of his key areas of expertise and professional interest. He worked for over a decade at the World Bank in Washington D.C., where his team spearheaded the bank’s efforts in implementing concrete actions in the field in order to deal with global warming. He was also a senior advisor to the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB).
He obtained his PhD in Environmental Systems Analysis and Water Resources Management at Harvard University (1975); earned a Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Hydrology and Hydraulics at the University of California Berkeley (1970) and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia (1969).
He has written and edited several books, numerous technical documents, and technical and scientific papers. Dr. Deeb has worked in over 60 developing countries around the world. He speaks Spanish and English and is a US citizen.
